Making Tax Digital & Software.
Making Tax Digital is rewriting how the UK reports tax: digital records, compatible software, quarterly updates. VAT is already in; income tax follows from April 2026 for sole traders and landlords over £50,000, with more behind it. We choose the right software for how you actually work, set it up properly, teach you the ten minutes a week that matter, and file the quarterly updates — so the deadline that panics everyone else changes nothing for you.
Making Tax Digital & Software paper into pixels
01 — Today
Paper, shoeboxes and spreadsheets
Perfectly fine for years — and about to stop being. Making Tax Digital requires records kept digitally as you go, in compatible software.
02 — The move
The right software, set up properly
Chosen for how you work, connected to the bank, receipts captured by photo — and your history carried across, not abandoned.
03 — The rhythm
Quarterly updates, filed for you
Digital records build through the quarter; we review and file the update. Ten minutes a week from you, no April archaeology.
04 — The result
Ready before it's mandatory
When your MTD start date arrives, nothing changes — you've already been living it for a year. That's the whole trick.

Common questions
When does MTD for Income Tax affect me?
From April 2026 if your combined self-employment and property income is over £50,000; the £30,000 band follows in 2027. The digital records must exist from day one of your first MTD tax year — so getting ready is a this-year job, not a next-year one.
Do I have to change software?
Not necessarily. If what you use is MTD-compatible and suits the business, we keep it. If it isn't, we move you at partner rates and carry your history across — nothing is lost in the switch.
