Apply for business rates for a self-catering property in England.

Owners of self-catering holiday lets in England can apply for business rates by completing and submitting a specific form to the Valuation Office Agency. To be eligible, properties must meet set criteria regarding the number of nights they are available for and actually let for commercial purposes. From 24 July 2026, new rules will apply to owners of five or more self-catering units. Completed forms should be emailed to selfcatering@hmrc.gov.uk or sent by post to the address provided in the guidance.
